Safeguarding Policy for Minors
Many of the players we work with are 15, 16 or 17 years old. Their well-being comes before any sale, signing or deadline. GSX Management LLC (d/b/a GSX) adopts this policy. It applies to the founding team, collaborators, ambassadors and anyone who speaks with a player on behalf of GSX. Everyone accepts it in writing.
1. Principles
- The minor's interest comes first. If something is good for GSX but not for the player, we don't do it.
- The family is always informed. The parent or legal guardian decides and signs.
- Honesty. We never promise scholarships, roster spots or outcomes, and we follow NCAA rules.
- Minimum data. We ask for and keep only what is needed.
- Zero tolerance for any form of abuse, harassment or exploitation.
2. What we always do
- We speak with the legal guardian before starting. The guardian signs the contract and approves every major step.
- The family is part of every conversation with a minor: on WhatsApp, a group that includes the guardian; by email, the guardian is copied. No private one-on-one conversations with a minor.
- We only use official GSX channels: [email protected] and the GSX WhatsApp.
- For players under 16, the guardian joins calls and video calls. For 16 and 17-year-olds, only without them if they authorized it in writing beforehand.
- We do not record calls: we log a summary of what was discussed.
- Photos and videos of the player only with the written consent of the guardian, and of the player if they are 14 or older. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Player documents are stored only in our systems, with individual access, and shared with universities and coaches only with the family's permission.
- On trips and visits, the minor always travels with their guardian or an adult the family has authorized in writing. No one from GSX travels or stays alone with a minor.
- Anyone who deals regularly with players provides an official criminal record certificate, including sexual offenses, from their country of residence (in Spain, the clearance certificate from the Central Registry of Sex Offenders; in the U.S., a background check that includes the national sex offender registry) before starting and every 3 years.
3. What we never do
- Ask for or accept money, gifts or favors from a minor, or offer money or gifts so they sign or choose a university.
- Promise scholarships, spots or outcomes, or pressure anyone to sign or pay in a hurry.
- Meet a minor alone in a private place, drive them alone, or invite them to our home.
- Comment on their body, use sexual language or share inappropriate content.
- Share a minor's data, photos or videos without their family's permission.
4. How to report a concern
Anyone, including families and players, can report a concern to [email protected] with the subject "Safeguarding". Our safeguarding lead is Carlos Moreno Henao, member of GSX Management LLC. We respond within 24 hours, any contact between the person involved and the minor stops while the concern is reviewed, and no one who reports in good faith will face retaliation.
If there are signs of violence or abuse against a minor, GSX reports it to the competent authorities (police, child protection services or the public prosecutor, depending on the country) and informs the family, unless doing so would put the minor at risk.
If there is immediate danger: 911 (U.S.) or 112 (Spain and EU). Child helplines: Childhelp 1-800-422-4453 (U.S.) and Fundación ANAR 900 20 20 10 or 116 111 (Spain).
5. Review
We review this policy every year, or sooner if the law changes or an incident calls for it. How we handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
