Where he started
Lucca is from Guararema, a small city in the state of São Paulo. Like many Brazilian players who choose the American route, he arrived through a prep school, Victory Rock Prep, and then a junior college, where the minutes are real and the record starts to count.
Two seasons that built the case
At Lewis & Clark Community College, in Illinois, he played every match as a freshman in 2023, 17 of them with 11 starts, in a defense that allowed 0.76 goals per game and kept 7 shutouts. In 2024 he played 19 matches with 14 starts and added 1 goal and 3 assists, on a team that went 15-5.

That record took him to Quincy University, NCAA Division II, in 2025. He played all 18 matches, started 15 and logged 1,211 minutes. He was also named GLVC Academic All-Conference and won both the H.A.W.K. Award and the James R. Spaulding Sportsmanship Award: a player coaches trust on the field and off it.
Where he is today
In 2026 Lucca is playing his senior season at Quincy as a fixture in the line-up: 15 games, all of them starts, and 1,126 minutes so far, with an assist in a 2-0 win over Southwest Baptist. In the summer he played with Duluth FC in the NPSL, one of the national amateur leagues where college players stay sharp.
Where GSX fits
Lucca joined GSX in July 2026 to plan his next step: a transfer for an additional year in 2027. Pablo González, from the GSX founding team and a former NCAA Division I player, leads his case, which is in process.
An extra year is a short window and a big decision: which programs need an experienced defender, where the year adds the most to his degree and his football, and what the rules allow. GSX's work is to get those answers right before anyone signs.
Quincy is home ground for GSX: founder Carlos Moreno played NCAA Division II at Quincy University himself, and knows the program and the GLVC from the inside.
What his path teaches
- Each step should make the next one easier. Prep school, JUCO, Division II: every stop added minutes and proof.
- Coaches recruit character too. Academic and sportsmanship awards travel with you.
- Summer soccer counts. The NPSL keeps you competitive and visible between seasons.
- Plan the last year early. An extra season is worth most when the destination is chosen with time.
